Members of the Caddo Parish District Attorney’s office will be among honorees Friday, March 4, at the Shreveport Mayor’s Women’s Commission 5th Annual Cora M. Allen Luncheon and Fashion Show.
Laura Wingate Fulco and Penya M. Moses-Fields will be among as many as 10 local women honored at the luncheon, 11:30 a.m. at the Shreveport Convention Center, Ballroom A, 400 Caddo St. This year’s National Women’s History Month theme is “Working to Form a More Perfect Union: Honoring Women in Public Service and Government.” The event’s featured speaker will be Caddo Parish School Board Member Deneeí Locke.
Fulco, a career prosecutor and a graduate of the LSU Law School, is the First Assistant District Attorney, named to that post by newly elected District Attorney James Stewart. With the district attorney’s office 17 years, she began by working child support cases and advanced to prosecuting major felonies. For the last 15 years she was a criminal section supervisor.
Moses-Fields, an assistant district attorney, has law degrees from the Villanova University School of Law and the Loyola University School of Law. She came to the Caddo Parish District Attorney’s office this year after serving five years as ADA with the Third Judicial District District Attorney’s office, covering Lincoln and Union parishes.

Events kicked off Monday, Feb. 29, with a breakfast at the Shreveport Convention Center featuring Shreveport Fire Department Chief of Fire Prevention Patricia Dyas.
The week will conclude Saturday, March 5, with two events. The Southern University Museum of Art Shreveport, 610 Texas St., will host the SMWC Young Womenís Leadership Summit from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will offer sessions on etiquette, public speaking, health and wellness, college and career readiness, and a panel featuring diverse women in public service. And from 4 to 6 p.m. International Women’s Day will be marked at the Multicultural Center of the South, 520 Spring St. Guest speaker will be Caddo District Court Judge Katherine Dorroh.
