Jaderrick Barrett, a Caddo Parish man convicted late last month of aggravated rape and molestation of a juvenile, was sentenced to life in prison at a hearing Monday in Caddo District Court.

Barrett, 24, must serve that sentence without possibility of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence. Caddo District Judge John Mosely sentenced Barrett to 10 years hard labor on the molestation conviction, to be served concurrently.

A five-man, seven-woman jury took just under three hours Jan. 28 to find Barrett guilty of a 2008 rape of a female victim who was 12 years old at the time and for the 2013 molestation of a girl who was 13 at the time.

The prosecutors were Britney A. Green and Holly McGinness.
