A Shreveport man will spend 25 years in prison and register as a sex offender after pleading guilty to attempted aggravated rape.

Micah Russell Koch, 20, admitted Thursday, July 21, 2016, before Caddo District Judge John D, Mosely Jr. that he had unlawful sexual contact with a 7-year-old child on Sept. 17, 2014, when he was 19.

The victim’s father reported the crime after coming home to find the child crying, and discovering evidence that Koch had engaged in sexual acts with the child.

Under the terms of his guilty plea, Koch will serve 25 years in prison at hard labor without benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence. He also must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Britney A. Green. Koch was defended by Michelle Andrepont.
