The Caddo Parish District Attorney has cut checks to local law agencies sharing forfeiture proceeds from a bust in Caddo Parish.
It marks the third time this year the Caddo DA has shared forfeiture proceeds with city and parish law partners.
Five checks, each for just under $27,200, have been sent to the Louisiana State Police, the Caddo and Bossier Parish sheriff’s offices, and the Shreveport and Bossier City police departments.
The proceeds are the result of a forfeiture of more than $181,000 arising from a drug-related traffic stop conducted in early November by the Louisiana State Police and the federal Drug Enforcement Administration.
In late June, the office presented the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s office and the Shreveport Police Department with checks totaling $126,313.67. And in March Stewart presented SPD with a forfeiture check for $21,412.94.
