A two-day burglary trial before Caddo District Judge Ramona Emanuel ended Thursday, August 25, 2016, with the swift conviction of the accused by the six-person jury.

Joe Litton Bailey, 49, was charged with a simple burglary committed June 15, 2013, when he was seen while breaking into a car parked in downtown Shreveport during a wedding reception. Bailey was chased down by the owner of a valet parking company who was working at the reception.

Jurors deliberated just under a half hour and returned a unanimous verdict. The trial began Wednesday, August 24, 2016.

Bailey faces up to 12 years in prison and/or a fine of up to $2,000, with his sentence subject to enhancement due to prior convictions that include multiple convictions for robbery.
