Holiday spirits will arrive early in Shreveport Monday, December 19, 2016, with the gifting of 100 bicycles to as many deserving Caddo Parish students.

At 11:30 a.m. that day in the garden center of the Walmart Supercenter at 6235 Westport Ave., Volunteers for Youth Justice and Caddo Parish District Attorney James E. Stewart Sr., with the assistance of Caddo Parish Schools and Walmart, will  give away the new bicycles.

The recipients are underprivileged students chosen by the principals of 10 elementary schools selected by the Volunteers for Youth Justice. The students are from Turner, J.S. Clark, Oak Park, Summer Grove, Summerfield, E.B. Williams Stoner Hill, Northside, Creswell, Caddo Heights and Atkins elementaries.

The presentation is open to the public, parents and the media.
