The Caddo Parish Grand Jury returned three true bills Thursday, March 16, 2017, charging two men each with second-degree murder and a third man with two sex crimes.

Kenneth Burnett Jr., of Shreveport, 35, was charged with first-degree rape of a person under age 13 and sexual battery of a victim under age 13. His indictment was issued under seal.

John Chatman of Shreveport, 30, was indicted for second-degree murder in connection with the slaying of Donald Young, 25, of Shreveport. Young was found in the parking of the McDonald’s restaurant in the 1100 block of Kings Highway with a gunshot wound to the chest on December 17, 2016. He succumbed to his wound January 20, 2017.

Arriaus Earl Taylor, 21, also of Shreveport, was true-billed in connection with the January 12, 20017 slaying of Tellmell Leon Lyons Jr. Lyons, 21, was shot multiple times after he opened the door to his residence at the Woodlawn Terrace Apartments in Cedar Grove.

All three men are in custody at Caddo Correction Center. Burnett has a bond set at $200,000.
