A Shreveport man convicted in Caddo District Court Wednesday, June 28, 2017, faces up to 99 years when he returns to Judge Katherine Dorroh’s court for sentencing July 6.

Marquell Deonta Williams, 28, whose trial began Monday, June 26, 2017, was convicted of one count of molestation of a juvenile and one count of indecent behavior with a juvenile. The victim was 11 years old at the time of the first offense and 13 years old at the time of the second offense.

The eight-woman, four-man jury deliberated a little over four hours before returning with a unanimous guilty verdict.

The prosecutors were assistant district attorneys Treneisha Hill and Joshua Williams, with David McClatchey defending Williams.

Williams faces a sentence of at least 25 years, with a maximum sentence of 99 years possible.
