Jury selection ended Tuesday, October 10, 2017, in the second-degree murder trial of McKinley Trumann Efferson, in Caddo District Court.
The jurors — five men and seven women, with two female alternates — will meet again in District Judge Brady O’Callaghan’s courtoom when the trial begins with opening statements at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 11, 2017.
Efferson, 26, is accused of the January 16, 2015 slaying of Reginald Wess. Wess, 50, was was shot multiple times inside a residence in the 100 block of South Greenbrook Loop. Wess was the boyfriend of Efferson’s mother.
Prosecutors are assistant district attorneys Monique Y. Metoyer and Mekisha Smith Creal. Efferson’s defense attorneys are Mary Harried and Carlos Prudhomme.
