A Shreveport man facing life in prison for aggravated rape pleaded guilty Monday, December 11, 2017, to forcible rape and molestation of two juvenile victims before his trial was to start in Caddo District Court.
Jonas Jaggers Coffman, 38, of Shreveport, arrested in September 2015, was charged with sexual assaults on female victims ages 11 and 16. One incident, the rape, occurred in August 2013, while the molestation took place in January 2012.
Caddo District Judge John D. Mosely Jr. immediately sentenced Coffman to 40 years for the forcible rape conviction and 10 years for molestation of a minor, the terms to be served at hard labor with no possibility of probation, parole or suspension of sentence. The terms are to be served concurrently.
Coffman was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Ron Christopher Stamps and Sam Crichton. Coffman was represented by public defenders Michelle Andrepont and Michael Enright.
