Testimony will resume Friday, January 26, 2018, and state prosecutors expect to deliver their closing arguments in the trial of a Caddo Parish man accused of sexually assaulting two sisters under age 13 over the course of a decade.

Paul Lee Bedgood, 34, of Greenwood, is charged with aggravated rape of a juvenile under age 13 and an amended charge of indecent behavior with a juvenile under the age of 13. The aggravated rapes occurred between 2006 and 2009 and the indecent behavior about 2015 or 2016.

The trial is before District Judge Brady D. O’Callaghan. The jury consists of four men and eight women.

Bedgood faces life imprisonment if convicted as charged of the rape, that term to be served at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence. If convicted of the charge of indecent behavior, he faces a sentence of two to 25 years.

Prosecutors are Assistant District Attorneys Bill Edwards and Mekisha Smith Creal. Bedgood is represented by Ben Langford.
