A 67-year-old Shreveport man was convicted in Caddo District Court Tuesday, April 10, 2018, of sex crimes against a juvenile.
Jefferson Davis Jr. went on trial Monday, April 9, 2018, in District Judge Katherine Dorroh’s courtroom. The eight-woman, four-man jury deliberated a little over 20 minutes before returning its unanimous verdict of guilty on charges of first-degree rape, sexual battery and indecent behavior with juveniles.
Davis’s victim was 9 years old at the time of the offenses four years ago.
Davis will return May 8, 2018, for sentencing. He faces life imprisonment for the first-degree rape conviction, 25 to 99 years on the sexual battery conviction and two to 25 years for conviction of indecent behavior with juveniles.
Prosecutors were Ron Christopher Stamps and Treneisha Hill, with David McClatchey representing Davis.
