A Shreveport man who choked and beat the mother of his three children faces up to eight years in prison and a $2,000 fine following his conviction in Caddo District Court Wednesday, July 11, 2018.
Marvin Tremell Dixon, 29, was charged with second-degree battery for the October 8, 2016, attack on his victim, which caused her to black out, after which he struck her head, knocking her unconscious and causing a right eye orbital fracture.
Dixon, who has prior misdemeanor convictions for possession of marijuana in 2009 and 2011, will return before Caddo District Judge Brady D. O’Callaghan August 16, 2018, for post-trial motions. He will be sentenced at a future date.
Dixon was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Kodie Smith. He was defended by Mary Harried and William Eades.
