A man convicted in March in Caddo District Court for multiple rapes of a Shreveport woman was sentenced Wednesday, April 3, 2019, to life in prison.
The life term, to be served without the benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence, was meted out to Travionne Dewayne Bradley, 20, by District Judge Charles Tutt for Bradley’s first-degree rape of an 18-year-old victim December 8, 2015, as she held her infant. Bradley sexually assaulted his victim four additional times and for each of those second-degree rapes Judge Tutt sentenced him to concurrent 40-year hard-labor terms in prison. Bradley also must register as a sex offender.
On March 1, 2019, a Caddo Parish jury convicted Bradley of the attacks on the Shreveport woman after he had pushed his way into her residence on Earl Street in the Caddo Heights neighborhood. Bradley was armed with a handgun and duct-taped his victim’s wrists and mouth.
Bradley was prosecuted by assistant district attorneys Monique Y. Metoyer, Bill Edwards, Kodie Smith and William Gaskins. He was defended by Mary Harried and Michael Enright.
