A Caddo Parish man facing trial on a charge of second-degree rape pleaded guilty Tuesday, September 10, 2019, in Caddo District Court, just prior to jury selection.

Eric Jerad Holden Sr., 42, of Oil City, pleaded guilty before District Judge Katherine Dorroh. He admitted to the crime charged, that on or about December 26, 2017, he raped a 13-year-old relative at a residence in Shreveport. During the attack, other family members, including children, were present at the residence. The assault occurred in the bathroom of the home and the assault continued until another relative interrupted the attack.

Holden was sentenced to 40 years in prison.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Ron Christopher Stamps and Britney A. Green, with the Caddo District Attorney’s Office’s Special Victims Unit. Holden was defended by David McClatchey.
