For the fourth year in a row, the Caddo Parish District Attorney’s office, in partnership with Volunteers for Youth Justice, will make Christmas special for almost 200 Caddo Parish elementary students through a bicycle give-away.

With bicycles purchased through a generous donation from El Dorado Casino, 190 deserving Caddo Parish students will get their early Christmas presents Wednesday, December 18, 2019, at 9:30 a.m. at Academy Sports, 210 E. Bert Kouns Industrial Loop in Shreveport.

The staff at Academy Sports, a community partner in the event, ordered and assembled the bicycles for the students, all chosen by their schools.

The give-away is part of an initiative by the Volunteers for Youth Justice TASC Truancy Prevention Program, working in collaboration with Caddo Parish Schools, aimed to address improving attendance in all 41 Caddo elementary schools.

The presentation will be open to the public, parents and the media.
