A Shreveport man charged with numerous sex crimes against a juvenile male pleaded guilty in Caddo District Court Monday, July 12, 2021.

Terrence Tyrone Johnson, 35, pleaded guilty before District Judge Donald Hathaway Jr. to molestation of a juvenile under the age of 13, in return for dismissal of 14 counts of possession of child pornography.

Johnson was sentenced to 30 years in prison at hard labor, 25 of which must be served without the benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence. Upon release, Johnson must register as a sex offender for life.

Johnson sexually assaulted an 11-year-old boy during November 2019. Johnson raped the victim anally and forced the child to perform oral sex on him.  Police began investigating after the child disclosed the assaults on November 25, 2019, following one of the oral sex assaults. During a police interview, Johnson confessed to the assaults once confronted with the evidence.

The Caddo Parish District Attorney’s Office’s Special Victims Unit handled the prosecution of this case. The unit is comprised of prosecutors and investigators specially trained to handle cases involving sexual assaults and domestic violence.
