A Shreveport man who pistol-whipped a female acquaintance last summer was convicted Tuesday, May 6, 2025, of aggravated second-degree battery.
It took the seven-woman, five-man jury in Caddo District Judge Chris Victory’s court three hours to convict Shaquille Bradford, 30, of the August 15, 2024 attack that occurred early in the morning on Acorn Street.
Bradford, armed with a Glock handgun, approached the woman and struck her on the back of her head and in the face with the weapon. She suffered a deep laceration behind an ear and subsequently has experienced seizures due to her trauma.
Jurors heard from responding police officers who saw Bradford holding the gun before he fled. He was captured shortly after but had tossed the gun, which later was recovered.
Bradford faces up to 15 years in prison when he returns to Judge Victory’s court for sentencing June 18, 2025, though his sentence could be enhanced if he is adjudged a habitual offender.
Bradford was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Courtney N. Ray and Briana C. Spivey. He was defended by Silver Sanders and Katie Miller.
The case was docket No. 403631.
