A Caddo Parish jury convicted Shreveporter Travis June Wednesday, May 7, 2025, of trying to molest a tender-age child almost two years ago.
The eight-woman, four-man jury in District Judge Ramona Emanuel’s court determined, after more than two hours of deliberation, that in October 2023, 35-year-old June entered the room of a 10-year-old female relative one night with his pants down, committed a lewd act and offered her $5 not to tell anyone about it. A month later the victim informed a relative of what June did, and the relative in turn notified the Shreveport Police Department. The victim testified, as did the relative, an advocate from the Gingerbread House and two police officers. Jurors also heard testimony that June was a suspect in three prior sexual assaults. June has a previous felony conviction for domestic abuse child endangerment.
The jury returned a responsive verdict of attempted molestation of a juvenile under age 13.
When June return to Judge Emanuel’s court for sentencing May 15, 2025, he faces a sentence of up to 49 years at hard labor.
Assistant District Attorneys Fernando Grider Jr. and Senáe D. Hall prosecuted June. He was defended by Dave Knadler and Royal Alexander.
The case was docket No. 398675.
