Lucien Hall guilty of domestic battery

A Shreveport man who strangled his wife was convicted of first-offense domestic abuse battery Thursday, October 29, 2026, in Caddo District Court.
Lucien Hall, 44, was convicted after an hour's deliberation by the eight-woman, four-man jury in District Judge Donald E. Hathaway Jr.'s court.
The battery occurred February 21, 2024, when police responded to a residence in Shreveport where Hall's then-wife reported a domestic incident, where he confronted her, then punched and shoved her. In the back bedroom, he pinned her head down while her neck was on an object. This constricted her airway, causing bruising and lacerations that were shown to the jury. The victim managed to get up and Hall fled.
Hall will return to court November 5, 2026 for sentencing. Under state law, this crime carries a maximum six-month parish jail sentence with a mandatory $300 fine and other statutory requirements.
Hall was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Stephen Folk-Cruthirds and Courtney N. Ray. The Caddo Public Defender's office represented him.
The case was docket No. 406828.
