Jeshaiah Rambo pleads guilty to attempted murder
A second Shreveporter involved in a robbery that turned into attempted murder pleaded guilty Wednesday, September 24, 2025, in Caddo District Court.
Jeshaiah Ashanti Rambo, 20, admitted to District Judge Ramona Emanuel her part in the crime that occurred October 9, 2023, in the 1700 block of Alma Street. Judge Emanuel sentenced her to serve 10 years in prison.

Derrick Morris guilty of attempted slaying
A masked gunman who shot and grievously wounded a friend last year was found guilty in Caddo District Court this week.
The nine-woman, three-man jury in District Judge Chris Victory's court deliberated less than three hours before returning its unanimous responsive attempted manslaughter verdict Tuesday, September 23, 2025 against Derrick Deone Morris, 44, of Bossier City.

Scott Millis pleads guilty to traffic death, injuring
A Mooringsport man set to go on trial Monday, September 22, 2025, for causing death to one person and serious injuries to another while driving under the influence, pleaded guilty last week in Caddo District Court.
After his pleading Thursday, September 18, 2025, Scott Millis, 49, was sentenced by District Judge Chris Victory to 20 years at hard labor without benefit of probation, parole or reduction of sentence for vehicular homicide and first-degree vehicular negligent

Robert Mathews found guilty of sex crime
A Keithville man accused of sexually assaulting a teenaged family member was found guilty of sexual battery Thursday, September 11, 2025, in a bench trial in Caddo District Court.
The victim reported that Robert Wayne Mathews, 58, started touching her inappropriately and escalated to further physical contact from December 2022 through May 2023.

Deontae Horton pleads guilty to attempted murder
A Shreveport man who shot his victim during the course of a robbery pleaded guilty in Caddo District Court late last month and was sentenced to serve 15 year in prison.
Deontae Horton, 22, pleaded guilty August 27, 2025, before District Judge Ramona Emanuel to the charge of attempted second-degree murder with regard to the shooting that occurred October 9, 2023, in the 1700 block of Alma Street. During the robbery Horton fired a shot that struck the victim in his back.

Gregory Underwood to serve 15 years in prison
Gregory Underwood, 30, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of aggravated assault with a firearm and to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. For the latter charge he was sentenced to serve 15 years in prison at hard labor without benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence. For the assault charge he must serve the maximum term of 10 years concurrently.

Kelvin Higgins pleads guilty to assault, property damage
Kelvin Higgins, 29, was to have gone to trial that day before District Judge Ramona Emanuel. Before proceedings began, however, he pleaded guilty as charged to aggravated assault with a firearm and aggravated criminal property damage.
