A Caddo Parish jury deliberated more than two hours Friday, February 13, 2026, before judging that two Shreveport brothers killed a man in 2023.

A Shreveport man charged with rape and a host of serious sex crimes was found guilty in Caddo District Court Wednesday, February 11, 2026.

As we enter a New Year, the state of our young people, the future of our community, remain foremost on my mind.  In the latter half of 2025, I noticed a troubling trend of an increase of females populating the 24-bed Caddo Parish Juvenile Detention Center.  In prior decades, zero to one females occupied the jail at any given time.
