Antonio Leon, 44, was convicted by a two-woman, four-man jury in District Judge John D. Mosely's court, which deliberated for one hour and 12 minutes before returning its verdict of guilty as charged of molestation of a juvenile. The trial began July 20, 2026. Jurors determined that on a Friday evening in October 2023, defendant Leon, the live-in boyfriend of the victim’s mother, coerced the teen to have sex.

Jimmy Wendt of Keithville, 68, was judged by a seven-woman, five-man jury in District Judge Chris Victory's court, which deliberated for just over an hour before returning its verdict of guilty as charged on both counts, indecent behavior with a juvenile under age 13 and sexual battery on a victim under age 13.

He was charged with second-degree murder in connection with the April 26, 2023 slaying of Amaya Jacobs. Ms. Jacobs, 35, was shot multiple times in the face as she drove near Fairfax Avenue and Morningside Drive in the Caddo Heights neighborhood.

District Judge Donald E. Hathaway Jr. sentenced Germaine Marquise Jack, 26, as a third habitual offender. The prison term is to be served without benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence. Jack was convicted of the crime March 19.

District Judge Donald E. Hathaway Jr. sentenced Patrick Williams II, 40, to 10 years at hard labor without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence, for illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He had been convicted May 15 in Judge Hathaway's court.
