Reginald Roberson to serve 30 years for slaying

A man set to go on trial later this month for a 2023 murder has pleaded guilty to the slaying and will serve 30 years in prison.


Reginald Roberson, 27, pleaded guilty to manslaughter before District Judge Chris Victory Wednesday, October 1, 2025. He had been scheduled to face trial October 27 for the May 24, 2023 shooting death of Eddie Lee Rogers, 72. Mr. Rogers was found near David Raines Road in the MLK neighborhood with a single gunshot wound to his abdomen. Crimestoppers tips produced Roberson as a suspect. There were no witnesses to the shooting.


The plea and sentencing were approved by and coordinated with the victim's family. 

Roberson was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Victoria Washington. He was defended by Michael Enright.
